New Display Now Open

Open now until 17 October 2025, “Breach the Peace” is a new display showcasing Alice Gabb’s newest banner, commissioned by the Paul Mellon Centre.

In April 2025, art historians Gabe Beckhurst and Jess Bailey convened the Paul Mellon Centre’s “Gender and Cloth” workshops for young people aged 18-24. Uniting these workshops was a commitment to thinking about textiles as a powerful medium for conveying stories, memory, expansive notions of gendered labour and embodiment, and as the ground on which kinship is forged.
