Archives & Library
How to Access
The Paul Mellon Centre’s Archives and Library collections are open to everyone and there is no charge for accessing the materials.
To make the process as straightforward as possible, we have provided a large amount of information online. We strongly urge anyone interested in our collections to consult these online resources prior to contacting us.
PMC is currently developing a new programme to facilitate group visits to provide teaching opportunities in the Archives & Library. Group visits provide a chance to explore our collections and get a feel for how they can be used for study and teaching. We hold an extensive archive on the history of British art and architecture across all periods, and anyone can access these materials for free in our Public Study Room.
Group visits are designed for undergraduates and postgraduates from any subject area who are curious about British art, new to our collections, and interested in discovering what the PMC's Archives & Library collections can offer.
