Write on Art
Please submit your writing by 10am Tuesday 21 July 2026.
First choose an artwork from the Art UK website to write about. We cannot accept entries for artworks that are not on the Art UK website.
You will need to use one of the Submission Forms provided at the bottom of this page to submit your writing.
If you are applying as an individual or if you are homeschooled, please use the Individual and Homeschooled Submission Form. You will then need to submit your entry using our portal. A link to the portal and guidance on how use it can be found in the "Individual and Homeschooled - How to Submit via Portal" document at the bottom of this page.
If you are an educator, please work with your students to complete the Schools, Colleges and Other Educational Establishments Submission Form. You will then need to submit all entries by email to learning@paul-mellon-centre.ac.uk using the subject line "Write on Art 2026".
All applicants: don't forget to complete the Supporting Adult Form at the bottom of this page and submit it with your application. A supporting adult can be a teacher, care worker, youth worker, counsellor, parent or any relative aged 18 or over.
