Guidance for visitors to the Centre

Welcome back

We have put in place several measures to protect you and our staff.

We’ve summarised the key points of our planning below, but please feel free to call 0207 580 0311 or email info@paul-mellon-centre.ac.uk if you have any questions or concerns.

These guidelines will be subject to continual review and revision, so make sure to check before your visit. We look forward to welcoming you when you are ready to join us.

If you’re feeling unwell

If you or anyone you live with displays symptoms associated with COVID-19, please stay at home.

Temporary change of entrance

Due to essential maintenance our regular entrance at 16 Bedford Square will be temporarily closed.

Please access our building through the entrance at 15 Bedford Square until further notice.

Face coverings

The wearing of face masks is no longer mandatory in the building, for staff or visitors. However, visitors are encouraged to wear face masks if they should feel more comfortable and secure in doing so, at any point of the day and in any part of the building.

Screens

Our Front of House desks remain protected by plastic screens until further notice.

Social distancing

Although social distancing rules are no longer in force in the building, we would ask that visitors continue to remain respectful of others’ personal space.

Cleaning

We will continue to invest in the extra cleaning services that we have introduced since our reopening, until further notice.

Hygiene stations

Motion-sensor hand sanitiser stations have been installed in key areas of the building, as well as motion-sensor soap dispensers in toilets. Please follow our hygiene guidance signs.

Assisting the Test & Trace scheme

To get in touch anyone who may have been exposed to someone presenting with Covid-19 symptoms since being at the Centre, we will ask all visitors for their contact details on arrival. This data will be kept for 21 days and then permanently deleted.

Make an appointment to use our Library and Archive materials

If you are planning to visit our Public Study Room then you will need to make an appointment and request the materials you wish to consult in advance.

Facilities

The ground floor toilets will be dedicated for visitor use only. Lockers will be available to store your belongings, but we ask that you do not bring any bulky items with you.

Paul Mellon Centre activities information

Our usual PMC pamphlets and promotional materials will no longer be on display in Reception but all information for them can now be accessed via QR codes on posters, or in the usual places on our website.
